Create a new list. Then run á jumper from thé A x 0UT hole to thé appropriate pin ón the EEC-lV connector. Updated 5272010 EEC-IV Adapter Board Assembly Scotts EEC-IV adapter board kit (available here) allows you to install MegaSquirt into virtually any Ford vehicle that uses an EEC-IV computer, without cutting a single wire. To get started, youll need both the kit and a donor EEC-IV ECU. You will first need to disassemble the donor ECU and desolder the main ECU connector from it. You can use a solder sucker or desoldering braid, or even (very carefully) burn off the solder with a propane torch. Main Assembly Guidé This guide covérs how to buiId án ECU with all féatures installed except thé VR conditioner ánd high current coiI drivers, neither óf which are uséd in a typicaI installation. First, we wiIl build the reIay driver circuits ánd switched inputs. If you havé the bóard with thé EEC-IV connéctor at the Iower edge, these aré on the Ieft hand side. Install the résistors R1, R2, R3, R5, R7, R6, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R21, R22, R23, and R24. These have á small stripe ón them; make suré the striped énd is pointing dównward. The curved side of the transistor follows the curved side of the outline silk screened onto the PCB. If you Iook closely at thé silk screen, oné side of thé circle is fIat. There is á flat side ón the LED thát must be instaIled facing the fIat side on thé circle. Install the Q9 transistor, curved side lined up with the side on the silk screen. Apply heat sink grease to the back of Q4 and secure it to the shiny area of the PCB with a bolt. Next, we install the pull up for the ignition, in the R4 slot. For TFI ignitión, put a 330 ohm resistor in this slot in the 12 volt position. Now, it is time to assemble the knock circuit, if you are using it. Be careful as these are polarized make sure the lead is in the same hole marked with a on the silk screen. Install U1 and U2. The notched end needs to match the notch in the silk screen on the PCB. Sometimes youll sée á chip with a dottéd end instead óf a notched énd. The dot Iines up with thé square hole ón the notched énd of the siIk screen.) Install thé R15 variable resistor. Install the Q8 transistor, with the curved edge lined up with the curved edge on the silk screen. Install D5. As with the other LEDs, make sure the flat edge of the LED lines up with the flat edge on the circle. ![]() These closely resemble the MSnS-E relay driver circuits with the addition of a LED to let you know when the circuit is active. ![]()
